These Zord-Riding rangers like to rapid-fire swings in the midgame to the point where it can seem overkill. However they have a unique weakness to hand size if a player can mitigate their alpha engine, and turn the tables to outlast this potent midrange beatdown. 7 drops aren't necessary when it comes to this foot-to-face style. But the lack of Megazord as a thematic ender just seems.... flaccid. Go ahead Darius, make me eat these words!

Wes is just a nifty nifty fella. However he often builds lists that I'm sure he submits just to make me crazy. Once again electing to submit a list I find myself VEHEMENTLY disagreeing with on search options.
You are killin me here, Wes. God dammit you could have had everything. In what universe do you choose bat-signal in a list that's KNOWN for it's crazy use of Wonder Woman? you cant fetch any possible 4 drop in a JLA money.dek list without a team-up? I mean dude is Batman even worth it?
You do this EVERY SINGLE TIME. We talked about this. You said you'd do better. Clearly you aren't putting as much into this relationship as I am. Phoning it in, Wes abandoned all hope of an exiles-level competitive Hellfire club or Underworld list and nabbed an infinite contender. The good? Huntress to tech against warp shards. The bad? Needing a duplicate Black thorn shifted. In a typical combex this would be achieved with the a finer world after an early teamup with blink and checkmate. But Wes elected to do it the hard way. Meaning, turn 5 at the soonest. Assuming puppet master can allow it to live that long. Should be interesting to see how things shake up.

it enters with no real plan other than set up SHRA. The rest, in his typical Norman Style, is to fetch and play whatever answer card will make you lose faith in your your god the quickest. want to swing? he has stall. COmbo effects? he has effect negation. Repeatable clutch character removals, a wall of def in master man total anarchy and early game 1 drop hate? Swarm board wipes? This list is gonna get rid of your stuff. and then ANSWER your attempt to do other stuff.
The downside? An utterly one-sided leaning into its teamup. Kill the teamup and put this list on the back foot.

Going fanboy, Norman dropped an ancient list from aeons lost. massive utility and consistency rolled into one ball of green and yellow willpower. The hardest part about playing this list will be remembering what options are available at any given time. (It's almost ALL of them) This can force a player to lose entirely on the merits of decklist memory and is the kind of list that no matter the loss, the pilot can only blame themselves, as the outplay existed SOMEWHERE in the list.

Ah yes Secret Society Utility. While i am simply left to question the exclusion of some otherwise considered staples, it is a solid take on utility in a format full of questions. It should absolutely crush combo lists like combex or anything else relying on its support row, but may falter into rush, considering most of the list is either hidden or understatted. I fear the lack of king shark as a tanky turn 3 backup option and lack of sinister will have the notable heavy lists just roll over it. If it can survicve turn 5 and later its KO control should help steal the game. This one will be very matchup dependant.

TNNB converted for avengers inclusion thanks to Spider-Man New New Avenger as a non-interactive teamup. Geared purely for speed it aims to push hard and fast. The deck's predictable weakness is in its ability to keep a Brotherhood character in play. With only 14 in the entire deck, it can accidentally encounter scenarios where its pumps have no viability. Otherwise it can threaten harder than the creepy uncle at a pool party. Turn 4 is absolutely viable.

*I have taken wide liberties with this deck name and breakdown, it is not endorsed in any way shape or form by Ankit. In fact, he probably hates it.
It is fortunate for the rest of us that this list wasn't optimised for the legal sets, and instead just ran most of its default power-list cards, adding filler for lost content. The odd priority of may into the spiders is a decent midgame move, but ironically serves little-to-no help vs the mirror match, the infinite builds or anything that can go fast. The retaliator feels forced as those 4 cards warrant the lost uniqueness skirting abilities the list wants. And a single flaccid Cable remains to remind us how this list used to want bodyslides too.
This may have been Ankit's plan all along however, as 7 of us desperately teched and tested for the most absurd exiles legal list, while he laughed, cut pasted a few quick swaps and then played fortnight for a month.

I'd lean more towards, Good Parenting.
I can always tell when Norman cant quite decide on what to play when he throws a Secret Society Variant at me. The Mother Box God-draw is actually a really scary pick and can force opponents to focus his Lex while he drops a fake-out play with underdrops, or, with decent initiatives (evens) he can just set up the old Bizarro swing stun fiesta and go hard into KO control. Adversely, lists like this have a remarkable access to resource hatred. Beware revenge squad purists!

Wesley Is known to give me migraines with some of his deck decisions. Not that he is bad or untalented, more than he somehow does what is regarded as inefficient conepts, only to have them work flawlessly. (no search JLA bro, I am STILL tilted!) Regardless this Hellboy list was expecting a meta full of curves and hellboy's sustain is a solid metric to get there. With no access to BPRD Signal Devices several games were lost due to untimely KOs as not finding protection for Hellboy In a meta surprisingly loaded with removal turned out to be a bad time.

And this would be my submission to this event.
I love Superboy Prime. He is stupid and overpowered and not a little bit crazy. A fantastic DC villain! But to make his solo tactic work, he needs protection. So when i realized Negative Space can protect him from those untimely KO's ruining my endgame boost chain, and my wild interactions with "The Real Superboy", I just couldnt resist.
However it was after I had submitted the list that I ALSO made the realization that Negative space would also nullify any and all attempts for me to power him up or to use one of my fave cards, "Kill you to death!' So most of my games were spent calling out opposing characters with Negative space. Did you know reinforcing is a targeted effect? Equipping is too! Negative Space basically reads: just &$%# THAT guy entirely!
What can I say? Prime fights dirty, especially when Batman is lending a hand.
Speaking of the devil, the DEFINATELY-about-to-be-nerfed Batman Alter Ego pushes the Prime set-up into a shocking display of consistency, while Negative space just feels like kicking superman square in the face.

Alexander Hancock is a consummate professional. He took one look at Damien and knew its potential to push for an overkill turn under a "Brave and the Bold" templated Titans/Gotham Knights crossover and did not flinch.
His penchant for setting up a solid wombo isn't new, and his veteran play skills are certainly not to be underestimated either. Will this list prove to have too many moving parts? Or will Alfred and friends shred some unlikely faces?

Andre is a crazy man. In all the right ways.
The sky is blue. the grass is green. Andre is going to try to play Venom.
These are the constants of the world in which I exist.
His absurd love for Green Goblin and Spider-man and Venom tends to evoke some pretty gnarly deck building preferences, often forcing a design note for future content on good days, and a straight up card change or errata on crazy ones.
For better, or for worse, however, sticking to his guns seems to land him in a top spot for contention, And this beastie is no different. Pulling the trigger on a decklist riding FIFTEEN KO effects, can be a tall order for the best up us to deal with. This particular monster likes to produce a gamestate where your empty board eats massive face swings while his venom/flametrap/finishing move do all his heavy lifting. While green goblin will punish you for trying to even think about defensive formations.
This list is wild.

Boris is a ninja. Lurking, muted in discord channels he waits until you leak all your secrets. testing in solo? no you aren't. He's there. watching.
...waiting.
So when the dev team was talking about how crazy abusive the army based leaders of Annihilus and Ultron would be in this format? Well the ninja master himself heard that too. And boy did he run with it.
Being able to produce turn one, 4 ATK army swingers is frankly, ridiculous. merging that kind of tempo under an ultron abuse build, is a push to an entirely new level of aggression. Anything short of a very unexpected wiff, or some kind of flametrap hard counter likely will not stop this shadow assault.

Our resident overworked trucker took a great deck and lobbed a guaranteed crossover in, thanks to Lex as his Ego. Running a known TMNT exploit with Ronin pushing for an abusive multiple use infinity gauntlet win condition. All of this is actually pretty absurd, however it may fall prey to tempo lists. It will be interesting to see how this performs.

Jim comes in with a pretty interesting hot take for Doom. Electing to use wally to ensure both a Mystical Paralysis use and a counter-loaded Massive Devil's Due swing! The Moloid recursion utility under Wally is also quite the interesting catch as his mole man can do double duty returning the moloids to play.

Norman has a problem.
He just can't seem to ever choose any other Alter Ego.

Now lets clear the air, Wally West is a RIDICULOUS Alter Ego. Dropping to 40 endurance is not a problem when you are abusing his free ready trick consistently. Norman's take on this was abusing the early brotherhood burners. Destiny into Pyro under this Ego will produce some WILDLY inappropriate amounts of Endurance loss tricks, while Magneto, puts in work through midgame. It is so effective in fact, that JUST hitting Pyro will guarantee 18 damage by turn 4 and that isn't nothing my friend.

Wesley is an odd man, a man with odd needs. An enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a wife-beater. All of it is absurd and yet all of it is truth. Among his discerning palate of needs is a seemingly innate hunger for a power-up deck in remix. While this hypothetical list has stood near the precipice of performance for some time now, it was the combination of this overperforming Joker Alter-Ego, the introduction of the hawk... er... persons? hawkpeople. Hawksters? Katar-Hol and Shayera.
Their utility has pushed powering up to the Nth power.
God that was a satisfying pun.
So this list looks to abuse a universal power-up engine in the body of 1 drop Katar, the additional +1 DEF proc from Shayera's 5, the free power-up triggers from the team-up and Nth metal for an astounding result stacked with Lost City. It is absolutely bonkers. with a seamless line of plays and solid set-up it has completely decimated most pairings. How far it can go is entirely up to our enigmatic smoking mysterious wife-beater wearing bearded prodigy.
The early pitch for VS System was a pretty interesting idea, take 1 comic property and give players an opportunity to have it compete or even team-up with another comic property.
At the time the concept was pretty radical, but extremely difficult to bank on, considering IP use typically has some high costs with it. In fact, original VS only ever managed to visit three comic properties, Marvel, DC and Dark Horse. Say what you will on whether you enjoy upper deck's 2pcg content, but they are absolutely managing to mix MUCH more IP content than original VS ever saw.
With Remix however, as a purely nonprofit fan continuation, we don't find ourselves limited with the same measure of scope. This berthed the TMNT and Power Rangers affiliations, but we were not prepared for the community vote results for our newest comic entity!

Travel with us as we explore a unique new keyword called Pacifist. Characters with pacifist do not engage in attacks. EVER. These characters could attack, if they ever wished to. But of course, they won't.
As a result of their desire to solve conflict with friendship, these characters, instead hold potent effects and defensive stat metrics. But be careful! some of these immensely potent stall tactics come at a high cost!

So by now you've got to be wondering, "OK, this is amazing and I can't believe the Remix team is THIS talented, but how am I expected to actually win with these ponies? Surely I don't just suddenly alt-win?
Well, friend. I am glad you asked. That's EXACTLY what you do.

So to clarify, to properly play these ponies, be prepared to mime, emote, shout, exclaim, and show physical affectations to a stranger! Beyond that, you'll also need supplies for optimal use:
- A multicolor shirt.
- Numerous meaningful gifts.
- At least 1 Apple.
- At least one innocent bystander.
Frankly when you think about it, it isn't really that much, since you already are used to packing dice, drinks, energy bars and endurance scoring gear, so we don't feel these things are unreasonable.
Regardless of how you play! We are certain that these ponies will propel your Remix gameplay to the next level!

I was recently asked about a throwaway comment about a deck name I had referenced during an interview I participated in earlier this year. If you are curious as to that interview you can CHECK IT OUT HERE:
The deck? A little nugget named Venom Burn.
Venom burn is a potent mix on a unique interaction on an often overlooked game mechanic. That mechanic is Evasion.
“Evasion” is a keyword that represents a payment power on a character. That payment
power reads, “Stun this character >>> At the start of the recovery phase this turn,
recover this character.”
The interesting interaction with this mechanic is when you evade a character, recover it somehow, and then evade it again. You end up with TWO recovery effects pending at the start of the recovery phase. This stackable recovery chain can prove to be very useful when you look at cards like Johnny Blaze <> Ghost Rider, Damned.

Lets walk through our combo pieces to fuel this Ghost Riding list that seeks to burn harder than Uncle Ted's story about Saigon:
What we needed was some solid trickery to ensure each needed element was met. And Marvel Team-up Delivered!

So this took us to a 3 team list. Spider-friends, Underworld and Marvel Defenders. This ideal setup firing properly on all cylinders allowed us to live the dream of A Johnny Blaze activating multiple times, on a 5 drop Venom, promptly evading and recovering with either Strange Love or Undead Legions and then chaining evasion to each recovery trigger at the END of the turn for an UNGODLY amount of high value burn. To put it in perspective, 2 ready tricks and a SINGLE recovery trick will inflict 60 Endurance loss to an opponent. since you will burn opponents for 15 endurance per stun twice, then twice again at the start of recovery trigger.
While there is ABSOLUTELY a list that is likely going to do this better, smarter or faster by moving to Golden-Age options, I'll leave the single set list to allow for some ambiguity. (and to make the readers do SOME of the work!)

As you can see the list focuses entirely on setting up with almost no thought outside of the burn engine. Dwarf will help ensure our team-upsa re live early. Wong helps pad out curve options optimally. Black Cat provides hand fixing as night Thrasher also locks in our needed affiliations. and Blackheart and Johnny finish things off. Blackheart is a solid turn 4 play if the aim is protecting your characters. On your kill turn, it also makes for a great sub target for Johnny.
Ego gems, New Baxter and ESU all serve to provide key needed cards as well as fuel your hand for the wild amount of discards this deck needs.
Missing a key card? Roll the dice on Consulting the Orb. So many games have been locked in by landing that recovery trick you were missing, or the order.
What hurts this list:
Resource hate. Period. Gotham Knights can also tax your payment effects with some bully negates in a pinch. But clutch team-up removal just turns this deck off. So buyer beware! Want to deal 100+ damage while laughing at your hapless opponent? This is the deck for you. Will it make your playgroup diverse? give options for outplay, Make for fun multiplayer, or generally make players love you?
No chance in hell. But the list does one thing and it does it faster and safer than many other options.
Just ask Uncle Ted if the Herpes was worth it.
