This was ALWAYS going to happen.
So needless to say, if any of my options, were SHIELD and ANY OTHER TEAM IN EXISTENCE...
It was going to be an Ultimates build.
Ultimates is my baby, my jam, my happy place, even.
So even though SHIELD was paired with the thinnest, least capable team that could TECHNICALLY hit 15 cards, in the words of the immortal Dr. Ian Malcolm: Life, uh, finds a way."
The standard shield list heavily taps into MUN and rides Rad man and Iron man into the sunset.
So yeah... This doesn't do that.
Step1 - Set the table.
Wasp and any other hidden character will do. Mostly we want wasp to activate at least twice by turn 4, this can be risky though, if we haven't locked in to either a Liberation day or a Triskelion , so it's fine to wait on her active until we do. If we are lucky and pull off a perfect curve into 3, we want to see Nick Fury. But we needed god damned atlanteans so he's going to cost us a search. Sub-mariner beats nothing though.
Step 2 - Abuse the living hell out of Triskelion.
Triskelion is amazing. the deeper you dig warping cards from your deck, the better search it enables. Lots of players miss things like chaining to the draw at the start of the draw phase, you empty your hand, grab a card you definately want, and then land 2 more cards. making your turn, thin, but almost always IDEAL. If your hand already feels solid, save trisk for that clutch defensive brick you need. one of my faves is a boosted "now I'm fighting dirty", then discard 0 for your re-fetched "now I'm fighting dirty" again for a clutch +6/+6 on offense or defense.
Step 3 - Drop the WOMBO
Same as the original, get to 7, play Thor, ideally you still want to have your 4,5,6 in play, but no sweat if not, Thanks to Nick Fury and wasp you should have been able to toe the line with 23-25 cards in your rfp. by that time you'll also make note that your deck has around the same amount of cards. Activate thor for whatever number is LESS in raw endurance loss for your opponent.
Then substitute lady deathstrike on your 4, activate her, untap Thor, burn again, sub your 5, then 6, for the better part of 100 dmg outside of combat on turn 7. Most decks wont come back from that, but for a good laugh, if it is your init on 7, you can always opt to save the last Deathstrike, and thor activated abilities, equip a war-machine armor on thor and, get 2 free stuns while obliterating their row, (TWICE!) and dealing 14 damage to your poor unhappy opponent.
Needless to say, this list can get work done.
