Match 18: Captain Italy VS Moloid Burn

        TURN 1 (JS Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


JS sets a resource and recruits Illusionary Warriors and passes.

Steph sets a resource and recruits Moonstar, then passes.

    COMBAT PHASE

Steph activates Moonstar, returning her to her hand, (revealing Savage Beatdown, Warp Shards, and Trouble with Dinos) scoring them all.

JS swings direct for 1.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Captain Italy -> 49    Moloid Burn -> 50




        TURN 2 (Steph Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


Steph sets a resource and recruits Moonstar and passes.

Js sets a resource and recruits Boris in the visible front row.

    COMBAT PHASE

Steph activates Moonstar (revealing Null Time Zone, Lust for Power and Null time zone, scoring them all.

JS sends Illusionary Warriors direct. then Exhausts Boris to flip Up Master of Puppets.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Captain Italy -> 48    Moloid Burn -> 50




        TURN 3 (JS Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


JS sets a resource and recruits Dr. Doom, Searching his deck for Millenium and KOing Boris to replace a resource (koing Moloids, dealing 1 damage via Master of Puppets) he then flips Up Millenium (exhausting Illusionary Warriors) to draw a card and team-up. he then  exhausts Doom to put a Moloid into play from his KO pile, protecting him before passing.

Steph sets a resource and recruits Dr. Doom, Searching her deck for Flametrap, placing it on the top of her deck and passing.

    COMBAT PHASE

JS passes combat.

Steph sends her doom into Moloids for a stun and then flips up Lust for Power, KOing Dr. Doom and taking 1 damage from Master of puppets.

    RECOVERY PHASE

Js recovers Moloids.

    Captain Italy -> 46    Moloid Burn -> 45




        TURN 4 (Steph Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE

Steph reveals Flame Trap, Savage beatdown, trouble with Dinosaurs, Only Human and Lust for power, placing them all into her hand.
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

Steph sets a resource and recruits The Captain before passing.

Js sets and flips Secret Files, fetching Zazzala. Steph grabs another Captain.
Js recruits Zazzala hidden behind his Illusionary Warriors and recruits Boris in his front row.

    COMBAT PHASE
The Captain gains the name Cable and steph draws a card. Steph tehn plays Only Human from her hand, targetting zazzala. Js chains Boris' effect, seaching out a millenium. burning for 2. he plays Millenium, exhausting Moloids to draw a card and then chains devil's Due to KO moloids and Illusionary Warriors to put 2 +1/+1 coutners on Zazzala, burning for 6 more. Doom chains returning a Moloid to play, and devils Due KO's that as well for a +1/+1 counter on dr. doom. Dealing 3 more damage to Steph. And finally Doesn't chain allowing Zazzala to lose her effect.

Steph plays Techno-Organic Virus from her hand, drawing 4 cards. And then declares the Captain into Dr. Doom, playing a pair of Trouble with Dinos from her hand and passing. JS goes into the tank trying to decide if he should Ko his doom or not to lose those pumps. And decides to pass as well for a mutual stun.

JS then sends Zazzala direct for 7.

    RECOVERY PHASE

Steph recovers Captain Cable.

JS recovers Doom.

    Captain Italy -> 24    Moloid Burn -> 26




        TURN 5 (JS Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE

Steph reveals 2x Wave of destructions, 2x straight to the Grave, and Moonstar. Moonstar goes to the bottom of her deck and the rest in her hand.
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

JS sets a resource and recruits Tatooed Man in his front row. It enters play with 2 +1/+1 counters. he then exhausts doom to bring in a moloid and passes.

Steph sets a resource and recruits The Captain, followed by Moonstar and passes.

    COMBAT PHASE

Captain Cable gains the name Blink and draws a card.
The Captain gains the name Annihilus and draws a card.

Steph activates Moonstar ro rally for 3 plot twists (revealing The captain, dr, Doom and Bodylide Keeping the Bodyslide and sending the rest on the bottom of her deck. She then plays techno-Organic Virus, drawing 4. Then plays another from her hand, drawing 4 more.

She plays Straight to the Grave, from her hand, sending the Captain to her KO pile and plays Reconstruction Program from her row to put itinto her hand. Then she plays a rowed Common Bond (Discarding The Captain). She then plays another Reconstruction Program from her row to get that Captain again and play another Common Bond from her hand (discarding the Captain) She flips yet another Reconstruction Program from her hand and plays a third Common bond from her hand (discarding the Captain) Leaving her with two 19 Atk captains in play.

She continues, playing Wave of Destruction form her hand, Paying 3 endurance to replace master of Puppets, Devil's Due, and Millenium.

JS chains to the wave of destruction and KO's Doom, and Moloids to place 2 +1/+1 counters on Tatooed Man from Devil's Due. Once resolves he chains Tatooed man's effect to the Wave of Destruction, Bringing out 4 more Moloids and KOing them all and the Tatooed man to put 5 +1/+1 counters on Zazzala. Finally, he Ko's Zazzala to burn for 3 more, putting Steph to 0, knowing she is sitting on a warp shards.
Wave of Destruction resolves.

Captain Annihilus swings direct for 19.
Captain Cable Blink swings direct. Once legal Steph plays a playset of beatdowns for +20 ATK.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Captain Italy -> 0    Moloid Burn -> -32


Captain Italy Wins!



Thoughts:

JS - I don't mean to offend, but I need to know... How is this build better than war paint? I mean I get it has nice consistency with Doom but there is no reason why that can't be splashed anyway. All we have is Moloids without Doomed earth trying to be War Paint without the world war 3 big finish. if I mis-played some interaction please let us know because this build felt... kitchen table at best. The right deck won today.

Steph - It isn't Smashy-Smashy, but it'll do.
