Aaron keeps.

        TURN 1 (Mark Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


Mark sets a resource and shifts Sunfire for 1 then passes.

Aaron sets a resource and recruits Wasp in his hidden support row.

    COMBAT PHASE

Aaron activates Wasp (removing Nick Fury, War Machine Armor, Sleeper Cells, Meltdown and Iron Man) dealing 3 damage to Mark.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Ultimates -> 50    Horsemen Stall -> 47




        TURN 2 (Aaron Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE

(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

Aaron sets a resource and recruits Clint Barton, ultimates in his hidden area support row adjacent to Wasp and passes.

Mark sets a resource and recruits Havok, aoa.

    COMBAT PHASE

Havok exhausts.

Aaron sends Hawkeye into Havok for a mutual stun before activating Wasp (removing Blade, 2x Wasps, Cover fire and Captain America) to burn Mark for 3.

Mark passes combat.

    RECOVERY PHASE

Aaron recovers Clint.

Mark recovers Havok.

    Ultimates -> 48    Horsemen Stall -> 41




        TURN 3 (Mark Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

Mark sets a resource and recruits Cyclops protecting Havok. He enters play with a +1/+1 counter. Mark Passes.

Aaron sets a resource and plays a rowed Liberation Day (removing Iron Man) and then chains a second rowed Liberation day (removing a second Iron man!) and finally flips and Chains his triskelion, (removing Ultimate Nullifier, Sleeper Cells, and Hank Pym)
The chain resolves: Trisk resolves, grabbing Cover Fire. Lib day resolves searching out Nick Fury, and the final Lib day resolves grabbing a Clint Barton. Aaron then recruits Nick Fury (AKA: king pimp) in his visible support row and passes.

    COMBAT PHASE

Mark activates Cyclops (removing a +1/+1 counter) to stun Wasp.
Aaron chains wasp's effect (removing Cover Fire, Mobilize, press the Attack, The Triskelion and Nick Fury) to burn Mark for 3.

Then Mark declares havok into Nick Fury, and plays a Mobilize from his row (discarding Cyclops) to fetch another Havoc and power-up his attacker. Aaron responds with Cover fire from his hand. Mark responds with OPtic Blast from his row, dropping Nick Fury's defense by 3.

Nick Fury stuns.

Aaron looks over the board and eventually passes.

    RECOVERY PHASE


Mark recovers Cyclops.

Aaron recovers Nick Fury, KOing Wasp.

    Ultimates -> 43    Horsemen Stall -> 38




        TURN 4 (Aaron Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE


Aaron chains Triskelion to the draw, (Removing Clint Barton) to grab Mobilize.
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

Aaron sets a resource and Plays Mobilize from his hand (Discarding Thor) to search out Hank Pym, recruiting him in the visible front row, protecting nick fury. He then passes.

Mark sets a resource and spends four resources to place 4 more coutners on his shifted Sunfire.

    COMBAT PHASE
Havok Exhausts.
Sunfire triggers, exhausting Hank Pym.
Hank Pym triggers, revealing and removing Nick Fury from the top of his deck, gaining a +1/+1 counter on Hank.

Mark then plays Concussive Force from his row, exhausting his Cyclops forcing Aaron to exhaust Clint and Nick.

Both Players pass.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Ultimates -> 43    Horsemen Stall -> 38




        TURN 5 (Mark Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE


Aaron chains Triskelion to the draw (removing 0 cards) to grab Iron Man.
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE

Mark sets a resource and flips Omnipotence. Aaron does not respond. After some very slow reasoning and some neutral advice from others nearby, he concludes the best thing to do is Call Thor. to prevent Aaron's typical win condition. He then plays Call in a Favor from his row (discarding Cyclops) to search for Apocalypse, aoa (the 5 drop). Aaron decides not to discard to search.
Mark recruits Apoc, and forms him in his support row, protected by Havok and moving Cyclops adjacent to him in the support row before passing.

Aaron sets a resource, and recruits iron Man, ultimates adjacent to the protected Nick Fury, and passes

    COMBAT PHASE
Sunfire triggers, exhausting Hank Pym.
Hank Triggers, removing the top card from the game (beetle, mach).
Iron man triggers, and Mark chains Concussive Force from his hand. Aaron exhausts Clint and Nick.
iron man resolves and Mark reveals his hand (Duty Calls, Call in a Favor, Mobilize, Abyss and Apocalypse, Mutant Messiah.) Aaron chooses to remove Mobilize from the Game.

Mark then declares apoc and havok into Iron man, for a mutual trade of 5 drops.

Aaron plays Meltdown from his hand to gain 2 endurance.

    RECOVERY PHASE


mark recovers Apocalypse.

Aaron recovers Iron Man.

    Ultimates -> 40    Horsemen Stall -> 33




        TURN 6 (Aaron Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE

Aaron chains Triskelion to the draw (removing 0 cards) to grab Captain America.
(Both Players draw 2 cards)


    BUILD PHASE


Aaron sets a resource and recruits Captain America protecting iron Man, and flips upa mobilize from his row (discarding Beetle) to search out lady Deathstrike. he substitutes her into play (removing Hank Pym from the game, and finally, he flips up a second triskelion, KOing the first. Activating is (removing 0 cards) to grab War Machine Armor. equipping it to Captain America and passing.

mark sets a resource and recruits Abyss, and spends his final 2 resources to place 2 +1/+1 counters on apoc. he then plays Call in a favor from his hand (discarding Apocalypse) to search for Apocalypse aoa *8 cost*

    COMBAT PHASE

Sunfire triggers, exhausting lady Deathstrike.
Havok triggers, exhausting.
Iron Man triggers, (revealing Crowd Control, Duty Calls, Apocalypse, aoa *8drop*) Aaron removes Duty calls from play.
Markj then activates Abyss, removing it from the game and targetting Captain America to be removed from the game at the start of the recovery phase.

At the start of his attack step, Aaron declares Nick Fury into Havok, for a one-sided stun. mark chooses not to reinforce with Apoc.

Then Aaron activates Captain America's War Machine Armor (discarding 0 cards)
Mark Loses 6 endurance, replaces all cards in his resource row, and stuns Cyclops.

aaron then declares Iron Man into Apoc. Once legal, playing press the Attack from his row, to ready Captain America and activate the War Machine Armor again. (discarding 0 cards)

Mark sighs, visibly annoyed. and takes 6 endurance loss, stuns Apocalypse, and replaces his resources again.

With Apocalypse stunned Iron Man readies. and Aaron sends him direct, followed up by Clint barton attacking direct as well.

Both players pass.



    RECOVERY PHASE
At the start of the recovery phase Captain america is removed from the game.

    Ultimates -> 40    Horsemen Stall -> -4


Ultimates Win and eliminate Horsemen Stall!

Thoughts:



Mark - If I had called triskelion or War Machine armor with that Omni I feel like it may have prevented him from combo-ing out on turn 6 the way he did, But since on turn 6 he tops a searcher. I feel like it didn't matter what I called, since Thor was still coming.

Aaron - it really didn't matter what he called. he needed to hit two Omnis to remove all my combo options. And even then, with him wiffing so hard on stall cards on 6, I'm not confident his late game is better than others. A great stall and a good deck, but the win condition should have been adjusted for golden age.
