Postgame Report: WEEK 1

We had a week full of winners and losers but remember! NO eliminations.... YET!
This week featured the largest win margin ever featured in a Springtime Smackdown, the most unlikely Underdog victory, and more than 1 surprise ending. One game even tied at -13 going into another round! So BUCKLE UP people!

It's time for the weekly:

Match 1: TNNB VS Sniper Shot
The Kings of Golden age didn't disappoint.  Trouncing Sniper Shot thoroughly, they reminded everyone that Tempo is bonkers good and mass boardwide pumps are pretty swell too.
Final: TNNB  DEFEATS  Sniper Shot
29  to  -5

Match 2: Black Bamboo VS Spider-Stall
A deceptively close match regardless of the final score, The game rested on the shoulders of a huge replacement effect on Hypnotic Charms in the middle of a Black Bolt attack. Expect Black Bamboo to be looking to rebound with an authoritative win.
Final: Black Bamboo  DEFEATED BY  Spider-Stall
-23  to -12

Match 3: Quickfate VS Captain Italy
Some times the underdog wins. the perfect storm hits and the favorite just can't seem to link plays together to save its life. This is not one of those stories.
Final: Quickfate  DEFEATS  Captain Italy
42  to  -19

Match 4: Moloid Burn VS Randomizer.
Randomizer is the new kid on the block, it's slightly slower than quickfate, but carries a much higher ceiling for combat damage output. Moloid Burn just wasn't fast enough to make it a game.
Final: Moloid Burn  DEFEATED BY  Randomizer
-12  to  15

Match 5: Secret Avengers VS Doomsdays Boomday
By turn 5, Half the Avengers in play were either at 0 ATK or 1. But it took Boomday the War-Machine Armor win condition to pull it out on turn 8.
Final:Secret Avengers  DEFEATED BY  Doomsdays Boomday
-43  to  4

Match 6: Invisible tOUCH VS Bosom Buddies
Here's the thing about alternate win conditions. if the deck you play against only has a single copy of the card they need to defeat you... it just probably isn't going to happen.
Well, it didn't this time either. Bosom Buddies didn't even get to build on 4. I wanted this review to end with a snappy zinger. There's a women's suffrage joke here somewhere though, I am sure of it.
Final: Invisible tOUCH  DEFEATS  Bosom Buddies
Ballot Counter Win Condition

Match 7: SHIELD Burn VS Rad Man
This matchup is like pitting a world renowned 100-meter dash sprinter in a footrace vs an NFL defensive lineman. It Sort of felt like a foregone conclusion, But that lineman didn't need to be the fastest. Just be the BIGGEST. barely hanging on, it perfectly blocked the runner's lane as it lumbered to a win. In an INSANELY close match that tied it up at -13 a piece to go one final round.
Final: SHIELD Burn  DEFEATED BY  Rad Man
-37  to  -36

Match 8: Just ONE VS Crisis Doom
Just ONE negates plot twists like it is literally its job. This may have been over before it began. Crisis Doom fought to the end with a surprising early tempo too!
Final: Just ONE  DEFEATS  Crisis Doom
16  to  -9

Match 9: Migga City VS Secret Society Control
Secret Society Taxed Poison Ivy almost to victory, But Mr. Sinister had other plans regarding those pesky start of combat triggered effects even though they had no legitimate answer to Chemo KOing Lost cities.
Final: Migga City  DEFEATS  Secret Society Control
19  to  -3

Match 10: Both Guns Blazing VS Hulk Smash
One of the decks that recieved a list update at the 11th hour, Hulk Smash looked primed to dismantle some guns this week. They learned a valuable lesson though: Don't bring a Hulk to an Ultimate Nullifier fight. Did we mess up our ruling? While we did briefly write on it, and we believe we got it correct, it is also worth noting that our ruling was in the least favorable way it could possibly be ruled for the Nullifier player... who ended up winning anyway. the ruling allowed Hulk some advantage by allowing Miek to remain in play. This allowed Hulk to continuously try to trigger Miek's effect without needing to recruit another.  Even So... Hulk still lost.
Final: Both Guns Blazing  DEFEATHulk Smash
28  to  -35

Match 11: Wolvie Direct VS Fantastic Fun 2.0
Fantastic Fun is traditionally viewed as an outdated Child Lock engine. Right? It shouldn't go Blow for Blow with Wolvie direct. I mean... Not a chance right?
Right?
Guys?
One of the closest finishes of the week. 2 pathetic attempts prevented extra innings for Fantastic Fun 2/0 and that's saying something. Just Insane damage output on both sides. Fantastic fun will be one to watch going forward.
Final: Wolvie Direct  DEFEATS  Fantastic Fun 2.0
7  to  -2

Match 12: Exiles VS Xbox
Exiles wanted to prove that they can still do stupid amounts of damage without Blink. On turn 5, they did, and they went BIG.
Final: Exiles  DEFEAT  Xbox
-1  to  -43

Match 13: Highest Voltage VS Sentinels 2.0
Voltage has it all. Fast access to reliable burn, Wicked ability to swam. And a huge pile of pumps with some Qucksilvers in it. But Sentinels have Political Pressure, Micro-Sentinels and a Shockingly effective Search and Destroy that launched them into a controlled late game for the victory.
Final: Highest Voltage  DEFEATED BY  Sentinels 2.0
-14  to  1

Match 14: Neutron Spider-Stall VS Chess Press
Neutron brings Plot Twist denial, focused field control, and Actively prevents Stalls from ever doing what they do.
Chess press doesn't care about plot twists and swarms 16 resources worth of characters into play on turn 5. It was a brave display of neutron's resourceful stall. Right up until it wasn't.
Final: Neutron Spider-Stall  DEFEATED BY  Chess press
-20  to  8

Match 15: Anti-Matter VS Ultimates
Ultimates fought valliantly in the early game dealing a pretty shocking amount of damage solely from Wasp, Eventually though, Big bodies and multiswings ran away with it.
Final: Anti-Matter  DEFEATS  Ultimates
22  to  -9

Match 16: COMBEX VS Horsemen Stall
Horsemen did what they could with an on-initiative Mr. Sinister on three to negate Ahmed's actvations, but it proved to be a bit impossible to lock down once a team-up with Checkmate and X-Men and Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters showed up.
Combex goes infinite on turn 6 for the win.

Final: COMBEX   DEFEATS  Horsemen Stall
34 to -7,777,777 (∞)
