Match 26: Quickfate VS Randomizer

JS



JS wins the flip and chooses to take evens, gambling that Quickfate can't end on three this game.

Mark Mulligans, JS keeps.

        TURN 1 (Mark Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


Mark sets a resource and shifts vision for 1 KOing it to draw 2 cards. He then passes.

JS sets a resource and recruits Ape X inhis front row, searching for Ego Gem and equipping it to Ape X.

    COMBAT PHASE

JS uses ego gem to draw a card.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Quickfate -> 50    Randomizer -> 50




        TURN 2 (JS Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


JS sets a resource and recruits Quicksilver in his front row and equips BPRD Signal Device onto it. he then flips and activates New Baxter Building to draw a card and passes.

Mark sets a resource, recruiting Quicksilver, and equips helm of Nabu onto it (drawing a card a discarding Kill or be Killed) Then mark exhausts quicksilver for Jaime Reyes' effect (removing Reyes from the game) to search out amulet and equip it to Quicksilver before he passes.

    COMBAT PHASE

JS activates Ego Gem to draw a card. he then sends Quicksilver with a flying kick into Mark's Quicksilver for a mutual stun.


    RECOVERY PHASE

JS recovers Quicksilver.

Mark recovers Quicksilver.

    Quickfate -> 47    Randomizer -> 46




        TURN 3 (Mark Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


Mark sets a resource and flips Dr. Fate's Tower (discarding Helm of Nabu) to search out and equip Cloak of Nabu. he then plays megablast from his row targetting Quicksilver and flips up the great Refuge, searching his deck for Human Torch, sparky. recruiting it in his front row protecting the fully fated Quicksilver before passing.

JS sets and flips enemy of my enemy (discarding Speed Queen) to fetch Random, recruiting it behind his quicksilver.

    COMBAT PHASE

Js exhausts Random to reduce Human Torch's def by 3, and then Ape x exhausts for Ego Gem to draw a card.

Mark sends Quicksilver into ApeX. Once legal he plays The royal Guard, Flying Kick, Kill or be Killed and crackshot for an easy stun. Js spins ego gem back to his hand. Mark then uses his quicksilver's free effect to ready and swings into Random for another easy stun.
The finish he swings Human Torch into Quicksilver for a mutual stun.

    RECOVERY PHASE

Mark recovers Human Torch.

JS recovers Random, KOing Ape X and Quicksilver.

        TURN 4 (JS Initiative)

    DRAW PHASE
(Both Players draw 2 cards)

    BUILD PHASE


JS sets a resource and recruits Quicksilver protecting Random and equips an Ego gem onto it. He then activates New baxter Building to draw a card and then recruits hank Pym in his support row adjacent to Random (calling out marchall Evan Stone III) and then recruits bette Kane protecting it.

Mark sets a resource and forms Human Torch in the support row adjacent to  Quicksilver and passes.

    COMBAT PHASE

JS plays a rowed Megablast and then another rowed megablast targetting Random and plays a flying kick and a megablast from his hand targetting random as well.

he then declares an attack with random into quicksilver, activating bette Kane, targetting random allowing for auto-recovers if he is stunned while attacking. Mark reinforces with Human torch and Quicksilver ensures the trade.

Bette Kane triggers and Random recovers. Then JS activates Quicksilver's ego gem to draw a card and trigger random's effect (discarding Jaime Reyes) to ready random. The JS uses Quicksilvers free effect to ready it.

Random swings into Human Torch this time. for another Mutual stun. bette Kane triggers and random recovers.

Js then activates hank Pym, giving random +3 atk. Js uses Random's triggered effect (discarding pathetic Attempt) to ready Random and then declares an attack direct.

Then JS activates Quicksilver's Ego Gem to draw a card once again triggering Random's effect (discarding Ape X) to ready. Swinging the supremely well endowed character direct a final time.

    RECOVERY PHASE

    Quickfate -> -24    Randomizer -> -4


Randomizer Wins!


Thoughts:

Mark - an empty board at the end of 3 and with a 42 point lead? that doesn't go sour very often. But 4 consecutive swings at 20 + atk sure does hurt.

JS - Holy cow i think i love this deck. I was feeling pretty sad when I drew into what I feel might have worked for a turn 3 win But got lucky rolling the dice for initiatives giving me my shot to let it rip.
